URGENT : DONATIONS NEEDED :( Story: On September 29, 2012, a picture of a dog with what appeared to be a neck wound due to some type of alambre or a straw tied around his neck was posted on the PALS page by member, Frederick Espalabra.According to Frederick’s report, this was a stray dog that can be usually found hanging around the basketball court in the subdivision where he lives. It’s unknown
how long the dog has had the injury but it was obvious from the picture alone that the dog’s neck was severely infected as the “alambre” had cut through his fur and skin. Concerned about the dog’s condition, PALS members immediately coordinated a rescue operation. Several dedicated PALS members arrived at the location in Cavite to search for the dog. Unable to find him, they approached the vice president of the homeowner’s association who was then informed of the situation and the dog’s condition. The VP agreed to keep an eye out for the dog and to contact PALS should the dog reappear. Other members decided to help with the search and rescue and arrived at the scene several hours later. With the help of Fita crackers, inihaw ni Ate, friends of Fred, nosey kids, a straw, broom and dustpan, and an umbrella, this rescue operation, which took about five hours, culminated with the successful containment of a dog that badly needed immediate veterinary care. To date, it’s one of the most adventurous rescue, with a bit of comedy, recorded by PALS. The dog, now named SUMMER has been taken to our partner vet so that her neck wound can be immediately treated. Updates to her condition will be provided as it becomes available. PALS and its members would like to acknowledge and thank the following members for their dedication, patience, and energy in locating, chasing, and ultimately rescuing SUMMER: Search and Rescue Operation: Frederick Espalabra (also the reporter) Arlene Calderon Franz Lasam Ampf Champ Tin Ignacio Mary Grace Arroyo Transportation: Ruby Gemstone Rowena David Mariel Wilson Alejandro Foster for the night: Mabel Boqueo Orolfo Without your help this rescue operation would not have happened.
